The
Empire Grill Sign
Neokraft had the good fortune in 2003 to be a part of the HBO motion picture 'Empire Falls'. Initially working as an intermediary sign contractor, Neokraft was eventually given the entire task of fabrication and installation of the neon sign seen outside Empire Falls' main hangout, the 'Empire Grill'.
The sign produced had to be period authentic and appear old, weathered, and in limited disrepair.
Neokraft produced a sign that, after "weathering" by the production company, functioned beautifully, including a user operable "short-circuit" transformer (seen throughout the film as the 'flickering' neon letter).
Additionally, Neokraft produced various small signage
needed for a number of uses throughout the production shoot in Maine.
